Project Description

During the ancient times “Cirellae” was a typical medieval village among the Byzantine-Norman centers of the upper Calabrian Tyrrhenian. It is located on a promontory overlooking the sea, consisting now just by the ruins of the town and other important buildings. Among these the castle built by Prince Carafa in the eighteenth century, the convent of San Francesco di Paola dating back to the sixteenth century and the ruins of the church of San Nicola Magno, which contains traces of frescoes.
