The Ducal Castle of Corigliano Calabro was built in 1073 as a military fortress. In 2002, after numerous transformations, it was inaugurated and opened to the public with the name of Museo Castello Ducale. Inside you can visit: the monk’s prison, the nineteenth-century kitchens, the chapel of Sant’Agostino, the hall of Mirrors, the dining room, tower keep, the moat. It has been defined as “one of the most beautiful and best preserved castles in southern Italy”.
