The Tarsia Lake is an artificial lake located 56 meters above sea level. It was built in 1959, with the aim of creating a water basin for periods of maximum drought in the areas of the Sibari Plain. To build the lake was created a dam through the damming of the river Crati, at the narrowest point of the valley, called “Strette di Tarsia”. The dam is 114 meters long and creates a reservoir from the perimeter of 10km and an overgrowing capacity of 20 million cubic meters of water.
