The village is located at 545 meters above sea level, on a hill on the Calabrian side of the Valley of the Mercure (Pollino National Park). Its main feature is the presence of several rural districts that cover almost the entire country, where traditional agriculture is still practiced and where the habits and customs of the place are better preserved. The real highlight of Laino Castello is the historical centre: a hamlet consisting of houses set on a hill.
