Tarsia is a town of about 2 thousand inhabitants at 200 mt s.l.m. in the lower valley of the river Crati, between the Serre di Spezzano and the outskirts of the Sila. The geographical position in which it is located made Tarsia a strategic point during the Middle Ages. The sites of interest in the area are: the Tarsia Nature Reserve, inside which there is the artificial lake and the dam, and the Ferramonti Concentration Camp.
